alexanderfoti Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Hi allI am thinking of putting 2 bike cameras on my bike. One forward and one facing back.Anybody know if any cheap cameras that will record on power supply and stop when power is removed (And in a loop of course!) Ta! Quote
Joeman Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 im planning the same thing!my ACP20 can be configured to stop recording when the power cuts, and start recording when power is restored. Not tried it yet though... Quote
alexanderfoti Posted January 19, 2013 Author Posted January 19, 2013 Aha, I have asked an ebay seller of an ACT20 whether his can do this. 80 squid or so seems like a good buy for 2 cameras + memory cards, I'm sure I can hide them in the fairing of my bike. I will write up a how to type guide if I do end up buyingEither that or have 2 of them on my helmet, I have 2 bikes so I can decide between the two. Quote
Joeman Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 One problem i can think of, you unscrew the end of the camera to access the USB socket and memory card. To permanently attach to the bike, you would need to figure out a way to connect the USB cable in a manner thats waterproof as the screw on end wont fit with the cable attached Quote
alexanderfoti Posted January 20, 2013 Author Posted January 20, 2013 If its installed inside a fairing ie just under the front windscreen area that that would really matter as it would not get water on it, same as the rear position under the rear light as long as the usb side is inside some fairing Quote
Joeman Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Might still be a good idea to use some heatshrink tubing to keep the water out..I tried to take the camera apart to see if i could solder the wires in, but there are no visible screws so i think its all glued/potted together. Quote
Guest Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Self amalgamating rubber tape would semi permanently seal up against water ingress. Post up some pics of your set up when you're done - very interested in this myself. Quote
alexanderfoti Posted March 30, 2013 Author Posted March 30, 2013 Will do! The diesel bike project is taking up most of my time at the moment though Quote
