  1. Check each of the yellow wires compared to ground. If you have 0 ohms you have a short to ground. Continuity between the yellow wires should be more than 0 ohms as well. The exact value will be in the service manual for your bike. It does sounds like your stator is duff
  2. I am just about to replace the clocks on my FES125 but the newer ones are showin lower mileage on the ODO than the old ones. Should I just wind the replacement up with a drill until it shows the correct mileage? Its only off by 1000 miles.
  3. I have had a look and they are different, but the seats look identical. I am wondering if the differences are in the frame etc? Hmmm I may take a chance on a 10 pound seat.

  5. Hi all I just bought a FES 125 pantheon for the other half to get to grips on, and the seat is pretty badly buggered up. Its impossible to find a seat for the 1999 FES online, but there are plenty for the 2003-2007 and 2007 onwards, They look identical, but is there any way to figure out if they are the same?

  7. Turned out the air pocket was in the caliper bodies, moving the pistons all the way in and then pumping them back out sorted the problem Nice firm lever now, lovely jublies. Thanks all!
  8. I will have to give that a try, I have heard this method mentioned a couple of times. It does seem to be the best method as the bubbles will be forced up with the fluid.
  9. Hi all I have recently changed out all the lines in my 1991 XJ600. I have replaced them all with goodridge lines. I have also overhauled the master cylinder. (new mc kit) The problem I have, is that I cant get the brakes to pump up, I have clear fluid showing at the bleed nipples on the front fork, but no pressure in the lever. Any thoughts?

  13. When you say on tightest part, does that mean on the top run between the sprockets rather than the bottom run (that you can see in the video moving)
  14. My thoughts as well, although I did check the chain slack before I left with me sitting on the bike, 30mm exactly, had a friend measure it, so it was "within" spec. Did you check the chain tension in more than one point along the chain?....could have tight and looser spots along its length...... I did A mystery on me to be fair, will see what its like tomorrow and will report back

  16. There is 0 play at the rear sprocket in relation to the back wheel, but I will check them recently. Oil was changed at 16,500 and the bike is now at 17,200
  17. Indeed I am OK thats good to know. I Just need to adjust my riding style to get rid of the clunky gearchanges.
  18. Checked the chain which was ok. Will check the back wheel bearings tomorrow before I leave for work, thanks.
  19. Just got home, pulled the front sprocket cover off. The slack is inside the gearbox, It moves nearly a tooth in either direction in gear. Sprocket bolt is done up nice and tight and hasnt moved in relation to the washer. I have tensioned up the chain a little bit more, just to eliminiate some of the slack there. Will see what its like tomorrow on the way to work.
  20. I will have the sprocket cover off tonight and have a look. Its moving as the tension is changing from the top to the bottom at the same time, but the sound is coming from the front of the engine rather than the chain area.
  21. Hi all My fazer has an annoying knocking noise. When you throttle on - Knock Throttle off - knock Only does it in gear, and I can feel it through the bike, but can phase it out with use of the clutch. Here is a video of it: "> Any idea if thats normal?
  22. If its installed inside a fairing ie just under the front windscreen area that that would really matter as it would not get water on it, same as the rear position under the rear light as long as the usb side is inside some fairing
