Jackroutledge92 Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Ok so the big day is coming up tomorrow at 10am and the battery has been dead for months I've totally neglected it and its coming back to bite me on the bum! I need some advice I've started the bike using jump leads off the car without the car started tonight and it took a while! Eventually got bike started sat on choke for a bit warmed up ticked over fine took her out for about a ten mile ride to try and give the battery enough charge to start off the button (bare in mind the lights were really dull and would nearly turn out that's how flat the battery was) so I get back from my ride and turn off the bike I then go to start her back up and the lights seem pretty bright etc but as soon as I try to start her off the button it just does that quick clicking noise and everything goes dull.... Does this mean the battery just hasn't charged much and could basically do with a new one or is something else wrong? I'm guessing its just a really flat battery and my ten me trip wasn't enough to charge it much? Please please help as its going for MOT tomorrow and I'm going to have to pull up and say ah yeah btw don't turn her off or she won't start again without jump leads :/ Thanks in advance guys Quote
Smokin Joe Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 New battery.Batteries don't like being left flat for too long, sometimes you get away with it others you don't and they die. Quote
Stu Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 A ten mile ride might not be enough to charge a totally flat battery but I suspect with it been left so long I recon you will need a new battery Quote
Jackroutledge92 Posted March 5, 2013 Author Posted March 5, 2013 Ok thanks for your replies.... Does anybody have any idea of how much it wod cost about to put a new battery in when I take it for mot? Quote

Guest Hodgy Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 I've always found Hunters on Westgate Hill are pretty decent price wise, and generally carry a good stock Quote
