Sounds like you may need to get yourself an Optimax to similar charger ...

Can you get your bike in the house?

Or are there steps to contend with ?

Other thing would be to rig yourself up an outside socket -- but that would

only be an option if you were either willing to shell out to get one put in, or competent enough to do it yourself ....

He only wants to charge a Battery. Not provide power to the street

Bit extreme me thinks Edster

How can the Alarm work if the Battery is off? Just disconnect the live first (red one) and then charge it up inside........If the alarm goes off whilst connect you push the key fob thingy to reset it 8)

Does an optimax not need a power source, once charged itself ?

Me thinks this is getting very complicated for such a easy thing .......Why is it easy?????

Because I managed to do it on my own with no help and anyone who knows me, knows I hate doing anything to do with bikes other than ride mine 8)

I was under the immpression that alarm's were wired, so if you tried to disconnect the alarm or anything powering it, it would go off ?

So top summarise............

If I can do it..........Stephen Hawkins can do it

No matey - An optimax (or one of the similar types) is basically a small battery charger.

It does need to be plugged in.

If you can't consider putting an outside socket in, you'll have no choice but to take the battery out - not difficult usually ...

Get an extension lead....thats what I use

So if someone want's to rob your bike, they just disconnect your battery.

That sound's to easy :?

That will stop the Alarm from working however they won't be able to ride it either with the battery disconnected

Aye but if it's disconnected, he might as well charge it in the house

I thought you were a copper ?

They don't have to ride it, just shove it in the back of a van

I can't use an extention lead without leaving the door open over night

Or, unless its a bugalow, dangle the lead out of an upper floor window?

Preferably the one you sleep in if that's an option

all decent alarms have a battery back up in the alarm so if you disconect it the alarm will go off

you need to put the alarm in sleep, silent or service mode then remove the battery and put it on charge

an optimate is a good charger so is an oxford oximizer

ever thought of a solar powered charger ? about £30 and they are pretty good
