  1. I'll take it no one else has an oximiser i can compare to then
  2. ok mabe i'll try that, cheers
  3. On my oximiser all the other lights stay on apart from the top one, then if i put the mains back on it starts to trickle again and the top light indicating fully charged comes back on again The only thing i was worried about was mabe it's not holding 12v.
  4. Anyone got an oxford oximiser ? Just noticed that when i charge my battery with mine, it charges to the green bar(12v) at the top and starts to trickle, but if i turn it off at the mains it goes down one bar to yellow (6-12v). Is this normal or should it stay green after the mains have been turned off ?
  5. I havn't tried it since getting the oximiser, but it's a pretty new battery so it shouldn't be a problem. Not sure if my old charger was doing it's job though. I'll let you know what happen's when i try it. I do know the oximiser has recognised the battery as fully charged though
  6. Oximiser does the same job as an optimate doesn't it ?
  7. Iv'e been tryin to get on top of mine for years, cause mine constantly lives outside. I've bought two new battery's, and have discovered that if i don't use my bike every day summer and winter, the alarm i have on my bike will kill the battery in a week due to the constantly flashing led light. so now i've bought an oxford oximiser and keep my battery off my bike till i'm gonna use it alot. The only thing i've found is that if i try and start it from dead cold(like now), the battery will probably not have enough power straight away to start the engine that has stood for some time, so i usually bump it first off to keep the battery full. Then after using it for a few day's it's fine. If i leave it two weeks it's dead again, so i just take it off and charge it indoor's. Don't know if anyone's got any more advise for me, would be gratefully recieved.
  8. Yea just get an oximiser, i just bought one, fully charged my dead battery in about an hour then continued to trickle charge it. i got mine from argos for £30. Good thing is, at least youv'e got a garage to put your baby in, mines stuck outside, it breaks my heart.
  9. hey, decembers probably not the best time to get a new lease of power, so enjoy the new experience with the better weather.. Ha ha, i'm actually bored with it now, i passed my test over 3 years ago now but never had the extra money to take the restrictor kit off. Every time i go to get it taken off there's another priority like new battery or new tyre. Unfortunatly my bike is sat under two covers outside and declared sorn until january where i can get it taxed. I've taken the battery off cause it went flat and have recharged it with an oximiser (another £30), i'm just a bit worried about the condensation thing, cause i can't really go and fill her with fuel ot take her for a long run cause i've got no tax
  10. Mines still restricted. Cost me about £230 fitted from a local garage. They get it from f1 international and give you a certificate, job done. Ithink it costs about £50 to have it taken off again, which i still havn't got around to yet. Gonna have mine taken off in january and wiil probably try and sell it on. And before you ask why i havn't had it taken off yet, it's cause iv'e got four kids and times are hard and i gotta get through christmas
  11. Jesus, how popular was that thread
  12. Talk about goin off topic, why don't you start a ,'why can't hopper stay on his bike' , or a,'why can't hayden ride a honda' thread
  13. Yea, but it was talked about BEFORE the race
  14. I'd like Aprilia to put a bike back in with the big boy's, and get Rossi on board Kawasaki are an even lesser team than yamaha at the moment If rossi was on the Ducati no one would touch him IMO
  15. If you watched the build up to last weekend's german motogp, you will have seen the piece on Rossi's pit board man and pitboard. They revieled that they put a pic. of a fox on the pitboard to warn rossi of a certain other rider's presence or threat, but they wouldn't reviel who it was. I rekon it's Stoner, but it could be anyone of a number of rider's, who do you rekon and why ?
  16. I bet rossi could put it on the podium 8) I'd love to see him have a go with a lesser team

    Two strokes!

Just found a 250 review in this month's fast bikes mag Kawasaki KRS-1S Hard and uncompomising, the ill motor ruined the part, otherwise gorgeous. + Barking when working, super quick steering. - Too hard, lives for the track £1000-£3000 final score- 5/10 Suzuki RGV250M Brilliant apart from the jetting problems. The best price to performance option. + Handling, looks, GP credibilty. - Badley set up carbs, sketch power delivery. £1000-£3000 final score-7/10 Aprilia RS250 Utterly brilliant bike, which is just a few niceties short of beating the TZR. + Handling, motor, looks - not a lot £2000-£5000 final score-8/10 Yamaha TZR250-SP Best on test, good looks, decent power, and excellent handling, make this a great 250. + Race cred, handling, throttle response, sexy. - daft rearsets, still restricted £2000-£4000 final score-9/10 After all that they still rekon the Aprilia would be the one to go for on second opinion

    Two strokes!

I had an aprilia rs 125, dead quick, load's of fun, load's of trouble Ok if you got time and money to play around with, but if you want any sort of reliability FORGET IT
  19. I have got the AGV stealth, and it aint on the list but........ I think it has the same spec as the s4 which has 5 stars Both look the same in actual design and both are a fiberglass kevlar composite helmet
  20. So what you're actually trying to say is Drew's got a sh*t alarm
  21. Cheer's Drew i'll take a look I know charging a battery is easy it was the alarm thing i wasn't sure about
  22. I thought you were a copper ? They don't have to ride it, just shove it in the back of a van I can't use an extention lead without leaving the door open over night Charge it during the day when ya home............It only takes an hr or so Thank's guy's, you put my mind at rest, i didn't realise it only took an hour to charge up, my old man alway's taught me to charge my car battery over night Technology of today eh Can you recommend a good cheap charger ?
  23. That will stop the Alarm from working however they won't be able to ride it either with the battery disconnected I thought you were a copper ? They don't have to ride it, just shove it in the back of a van I can't use an extention lead without leaving the door open over night
  24. So if someone want's to rob your bike, they just disconnect your battery. That sound's to easy
  25. He only wants to charge a Battery. Not provide power to the street Bit extreme me thinks Edster How can the Alarm work if the Battery is off? Just disconnect the live first (red one) and then charge it up inside........If the alarm goes off whilst connect you push the key fob thingy to reset it 8) I was under the immpression that alarm's were wired, so if you tried to disconnect the alarm or anything powering it, it would go off ?
