Suzuki rm85 clutch problem

Recommended Posts

I have taken the clutch cover off to polish it and have replaced it exactly how it was. Now when I pull the clutch there is nothing there and the lever just sticks back and does not retract. Has anyone got any advice.

and deleted the other post you only need one :)

a pic of the clutch cover and actuator will help :)

If the actuator is on the clutch cover it may have dropped off in which case you will have to remove the cable turn the actuator all the way back push it into the clutch cover then turn it back as though you was pulling the clutch on

The actuator rod only moves in and out about 1/16 of an inch, I can here that the actuator rod is moving, there is no compression on the lever at all.

try as I say it maybe that the actuator rod is not engaged properly

first make sure the cable is adjusted up correctly :)

What makes you think you need a new one?

If it worked fine before you removed it then it should work once put together right

I have tried again this morning to fix it. I can hear it slipping on the rack when I pull the clutch. The rack is pulled all the way out and the clutch cover is on tight and its still slipping. Any idea whats up? I am new to this by the way.

When I push the casing on it moves the pinion gear round half way, so I know it's lined up properly.

then with the cable adjuster refitted to the bolts that hold the casing on and the cable fitted into it correctly and handlebar adjustment set right it should work unless something has fallen out from inside as you stripped it
