Guest Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 I have taken the clutch cover off to polish it and have replaced it exactly how it was. Now when I pull the clutch there is nothing there and the lever just sticks back and does not retract. Has anyone got any advice. Quote
Stu Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 and deleted the other post you only need one a pic of the clutch cover and actuator will help If the actuator is on the clutch cover it may have dropped off in which case you will have to remove the cable turn the actuator all the way back push it into the clutch cover then turn it back as though you was pulling the clutch on Quote
Guest Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 The actuator rod only moves in and out about 1/16 of an inch, I can here that the actuator rod is moving, there is no compression on the lever at all. Quote
Stu Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 try as I say it maybe that the actuator rod is not engaged properly first make sure the cable is adjusted up correctly Quote
Guest Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Any idea where I can get a brand new actuator rod from? Quote
Stu Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 What makes you think you need a new one? If it worked fine before you removed it then it should work once put together right Quote
Guest Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 I have tried again this morning to fix it. I can hear it slipping on the rack when I pull the clutch. The rack is pulled all the way out and the clutch cover is on tight and its still slipping. Any idea whats up? I am new to this by the way. Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 it sounds to me like you have not got everything lined up correctly inside the casing as you replace it Quote
Guest Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 When I push the casing on it moves the pinion gear round half way, so I know it's lined up properly. Quote

eastanglianbiker Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 this is clutch set up http://www.cmsnl.com/suzuki-rm85l-2002- ... ml#results and you can see where cable locates next to number 6 the filler cap in this pic http://www.cmsnl.com/suzuki-rm85l-2002- ... ml#results Quote
