Are top boxes usually transferable?

I'm changing bikes from my 96 F650 to a 2008 Versys. I was wondering whether top boxes are transferable between most bikes, I have some sort of 45L "Lexteh" box. Is there a generic fitting or do you have to be more specific with them?

You may need the fitting kit for your box that's made for the new bike

All boxes will fit providing the company makes a fitting kit

Thanks, although I can't even find the company who made the top box so not sure how I should find out...

The issue with the Versys is getting a carrier for a top box. Kawasaki do not make one, so get the luggage rack here

thanks for that, the only thing is it only have a rack for 2010 onwards, mines an 08 :/
