Korona45 Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Hi guys I'm having a bit of a problem with the gear and brake pedals on my bike (duke 125) Im coming from a CM 125 which had pretty substantial *sticky outty bits* for my toes to hit and so when i'm not thinking about it and go to put my toes on the duke pedals im not even touching them, I have to twist my feet into position and try again.Does anyone know if these are 'standard' fitting across bikes and easily changable with any random pedals I find, or will I need to weld a bit extra on each side?Google isnt throwing up much information on this and the pedals I am finding tend to have a specific model of bike in their title, so im not optimistic enough to just buy them anyway.Cheers Quote
acting_strange Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 From looking at images of the bike I cant see that there should be a problem...It could be simply down to your foot position on the pegs...If you havent got a centre stand get it close to a wall that you can lean on with one hand then get on and check your feet positions... Joe4262 Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 There's a few on eBay for your bike (http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_trksi ... &_from=R40) but yeah the OEM ones for your bike look fairly wide. what boots are you wearing? also did you buy the bike new? because you may have non OEM pegs fitted if it wasn't bought new. Korona45 Posted August 16, 2013 Author Posted August 16, 2013 Thanks for the replies guys I should mention my feet don't naturally stay in line with the bike since they were both broken on the CMhowever the ones currently on there do seem extraordinarily short compared to the ones a quick google image search of the bike brings up so perhaps you are correct in thinking theyre not the standard ones, thanks for the link (oops I think most of that ebay link is foot pegs rather than the pedals)(edit- http://www.wemoto.com/bikes/KTM/125_Duke/11/picture/Rear_Brake_Lever__Pedal_-_OEM/ this is the one thats on it, looks short compared to others to me even in the picture :/ ) Quote
Tango Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Brake and gear levers on a lot of bikes are vulnerable during an off......so there's a lot of bikes out there with non-standard levers on them....and particularly 125's.....so maybe have a look on eBay for a bike that's being broken....or even see if you can get the genuine items from KTM.....although that is likely to be a costly option.... Korona45 Posted August 16, 2013 Author Posted August 16, 2013 My levers are fine Regarding finding one from an ebay breaker, im not sure if all pedals are the same fitment which was part of my initial question, but I suppose if its a 2nd hand one it should be cheap enough to just buy and try make it fit somehow.Cheers Quote
