bump started my bike this morning then I checked it would start before lunch which it did. then come lunch time no start. tried bumping no luck. have removed my soggy after market alarm suspect shorting. though checking the terminals next to my battery for the ecu there is a lot of white corrosion.

anyway what is the deal with charges saying they are for 20amh - 80amh etc my battery is 6amh. am I screwed? I've put it on low for an hour just to get it back above 12.5v

The white corrosion is the battery acid getting all over the place so your bike may be over charging or your battery might be shagged...

Are your units correct? Your battery is probably 6 amp hours (Ah) and your charger should be in milliamps (mA) or amps (A). The range you quote sounds like a trickle charger so it might take some time... Did you check the voltage across the battery with the engine running?

no didn't have it with me. car battery chargers are rated in amps. my battery is 6amp/h over 10hrs. the corrosion is not on the battery but on a power terminal that connects to the ecu. alloy corrosion is white.

Sorry bud, just assumed you were using a bike charger. :-) The corrosion is probably due to the acid or vapour - might be worth cleaning them up incase you're getting a bad connection.
