jamesd1981 Posted March 16, 2014 Share Posted March 16, 2014 So folks having a couple teething troubles with my new bike, only had it a day and speedo stopped working altogether took it back to garage where i bought the bike they tried another speed sensor and no joy, so they changed a small connector attached to the speed sensor and that seemed to fix it although the garage does not even know what the connector does.So assumed bike was fixed, but straight away felt the speed reading was not right, so tested today using a speedometer app and the speedo is off by 10-12 mph.Garage does not open till tuesday does anyone have any ideas ? The chap before me increased (or decreased) the number of teeth on the front sprocket, to give quicker acceleration. So check that the teeth on the front and rear sprockets are stock. Abraxix92 Posted March 16, 2014 Share Posted March 16, 2014 Best bet would be take it back if your not paying, if they don't know what it does though why did they put it on....Old problem when my speedo diden't work was the connector on the dash been lose, had to take the front end apart to check. Joeman Posted March 16, 2014 Share Posted March 16, 2014 If someone has changed to number of teeth on the front or rear sprocket that would cause the speedo to read incorrectly.I think most people drop the gearing on the GSXR's to get them to accelerate quicker.On my K7 i installed a speedo healer to correct the problem.
