Waterproof boots

In need of some waterproof boots.

Stipulations are must not be alpinestar and look not out of place on a Thundercat

Any recommendations? Looked at the RST Tracktech WP and Sidi B2 Gore-tek. The RST where comfy in store but what are they like walking round in?

Sidi Evo`s got my win.

Comfy as fook too!

Though, I did have a minor leak but we are talking minimal.

Holy christ, those look so much like my first pair of bike boots... which were Sidi's and fairly waterproof.

They look comfy.

Yerp.. after wearing them in, they felt like a big pair of slippers.

The leak I noted was like a thumbnail size... but I was riding in very heavy rain for a prolonged period.

Whats the movement like? as in changing up gears can you bend your foot enough or is it completely rigid?

Hmmm, they were a little more ridgid than my A-stars SMX-4 (dry boots) but nothing to really complain about.

Think it was probably the extra material that made them like that

In terms of changing gears, I found them OK. Used them on an old kwaka 7r (bad seating position) and my feet were fine up and down the box. Think it would be more suited to a touring position.

Walking around, i`ve had better but they felt very solid and safe.

My feet are wide-ish and they were fine.

Though, I think if I was choosing another pair of boots, i`d always go for wet, even if they are a tad more restrictive.

Though after wearing them in, you don't really notice.

The only problem with trying them on on the shop, you cant know what they feel like broken in.

Would I buy them again, I certainly would.

I`d say 7.5/10

I bought a pair of big ass boots on recomendation from a friend. Problem was they go up to the knee and there was no movement to change gears. Fine on a tall bike but on a short cafe racer it's not good.

Sidi on road boots.

Waterproof to the point I have come off in flood water, stood up in it up to the top of my boots and my feet were the only thing still dry.

They are a touring boot so I find them a bit more comfy to walk in too.

Which particular Sidi are you referring to?

The boots are called Sidi, on road.

There is 2 versions, goretex and sympatex. Mine are goretex and I have heard sypatex versions perform just as well.

Personally recommend the Sidi Black Rains.

Totally waterproof and very comfy. Last well as well.

I got the RST waterproof touring boots and they were BLOODY SHITE! the sole is made out of a soft rubber compound and with shifting down gear, I'd worn a hole in it in less than a month. 6 months gave breed to a much larger hole and 8 months rendered them unusable.

I'm on a set of alpinestars now - much more money, but much better quality.

Got the rst pair.

Will never ever buy alpinestar again. Pain in the ass to get on and off, bulky and heavy.

I would just like to know who makes good boots. Just got first pair of boots. Nice and comfy, worn them a fair bit to break them in but just cannot get on with them on the bike. Have to think about every gear change, never missed so many changes and to be honest its dangerous! They are just too big and stiff with no feel. Because they are so big there needs to be a lot of up and down movement if that makes sense. £140 down the pan it looks like as have stopped wearing them now as was no longer enjoying the ride. Only hope is they may be ok once i am off a 125.
