rice-pudding Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 I've been to check my sprockets from time to time to ensure there not wearing and so on . I'm new to bike maintenance so I'm not sure what to look for.A couple of pics http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd448/jojo-clyro/Mobile%20Uploads/20140712_142833.jpghttp://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd448/jojo-clyro/Mobile%20Uploads/20140712_142844.jpg Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 rear looks severely worn to my eye looking at the pic the sprockets are meant to be a U shape between the teeth not stretched U like that looks easy test is get h old of chain at the 3 o clock position on the rear sprocket and see how far you can lift it away from tooth of sprocket Quote
Tango Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Although it's hard to see from the pics, I agree with EAB.....rear sprocket teeth look far too pointy.... Quote
fq-craigus Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Front sprocket gaps look elongated, so worn. Nd rear gaps are too large and unevenly elongated so knackered. And chain looks tired. So all in all replace the lot pal Quote
numptyspence Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 You could sell that rear sprocket as a Shuriken to some martial art guys Though i cant talk i left i a little bit too late once http://i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j331/numptyspence/fixing%20the%20bike/IMAG0407.jpg Quote
