mole81 Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Is anyone familiar with the cg 125? I'm a total newb! Kids covered yesterday it wouldn't idle on choke unless I opened throttle slightly for about a min, then off with choke and all ok!? Quote
Tango Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 The CG125 choke has a full on position (lever all the way up), a mid position (lever in the middle) and off (lever all the way down).......we found that putting it into the full on position to start it....and as soon as it started, put it into the mid position for a minute or 2......then it should be ok to turn the choke off completely...... mole81 Posted September 8, 2014 Author Posted September 8, 2014 Cheers tango, did you rev it too? Quote
Tango Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Not really.....just let it tickover for a while..... Quote
mole81 Posted September 8, 2014 Author Posted September 8, 2014 Ok thanks I need to try suggestions now! What yr cg did you have? Quote
Tango Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Blimey mate....dunno, but it's an oldish one....not actually mine, but Bonniebird's daughters..... Quote
mole81 Posted September 8, 2014 Author Posted September 8, 2014 Just wondering if there was much evolution with them lol...mines 2007 Quote
Tango Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 The CG hasn't changed much since it was first introduced......so, I don't think the choke operation should be a lot different.... Quote
mole81 Posted September 8, 2014 Author Posted September 8, 2014 Think you're prob right! I just find it odd the idle speed doesn't increase when choked! Quote
Tango Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 We found that if it was left on full choke when it was started it would start to flood and stall......hence, starting on full choke and then switching to half choke straight away..... Quote
mole81 Posted September 8, 2014 Author Posted September 8, 2014 I'm gonna try tomorrow evening when I go for a spin, won't of started for two days then! Quote
Adam Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 My old NSR was the same start on choke and turn it off straight away otherwise it died. Quote
mole81 Posted September 9, 2014 Author Posted September 9, 2014 Cheers guys will see how t goes tonight! If it floods what's the best fix? Quote
