al_stu Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Just been sent 2 new dates for biker down in South Yorkshire. I've booked on the 20th Nov course. For anyone who doesn't know, it's a free 2 hours first aid course tailored for bikers as often we're first at accident scenes involving other bikers. Details here if anyone's interested. Usually only a small group each time so act fasthttp://www.lifewise999.co.uk/road-safety/motorcycles-&-scooters/bikerdown!-south-yorkshire Quote
numptyspence Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Been on this course at the fire station. It was a interesting 2 hours only covers the very basics but does at least give you some practical experience. Just watch out for the out of date biscuits! ! Quote

TC1474 Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Very good and worthwhile course. I have been working with Essex and Gloucester Biker down, I am also talking to Cheshire and South Yorkshire, for a while, and I have been invited to the national Fire Bike safety conference (which runs the biker down course) in November to meet the other teams.I don't think it will be long before the Fire Bike safety teams take over from Bikesafe, especially as some are now losing their accreditation.Enjoy, it is worthwhile.
