I currently have a 140 tyre on a 3.5" rim that needs replacing but I don't really like the available tyres. I really want the Michelin pilot road 2's but they start at 150. Would a 150 tyre be okay on a 3.5" rim or would it be too big. Thanks :)

according to that chart it should be ok to run although a 4.25 inch rim would be better!

you will be pulling the tyre in and changing to profile slightly and could end up with less contact patch

another thing to think about is clearance for the swingarm, hugger if fitted and chain

Just had a quick look and the gap between the chain and the tyre is about 15mm so it should be okay but I'm worried that the profile will be messed up.

if your worried then stick with the stock tyre!

whats the reason for change? is it purely for availability

Yeah there so many more to choose from once you reach 150, it's annoying really. There's another Michelin tyre that's like the road 2 and I think that comes in 140 so I'll go with that. Cheers :D
