Phooey Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Is this any good guys or am I wasting my money? One of the cheapest that I have seen and I thought since a chain replacement isn't every other week it might do the job.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Motorcycle-Ch ... 43d7b09641 Quote
Tango Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Looks ok.......just noted the fact that on heavier chains they recommend grinding the head off the rivets before trying to break the chain........which kinda defeats the object of the thing in my mind...... Quote
Phooey Posted February 14, 2015 Author Posted February 14, 2015 Indeed ... not sure about buying a grinder though just for the occasional chain and sprocket change. Quote
Stu Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 looks good to me although I wouldnt use it to break the old chain I have seen people snap the pins rendering the tool useless and they can't fit the chain use a grinder to cut it off you must know someone you can borrow one off Quote
Phooey Posted February 14, 2015 Author Posted February 14, 2015 Stu.yeah I do ... feels a bit like taking a shotgun to a budgie! Quote
Stu Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 just chop it off you wont regret it if you try using the chain splitter first just remember to loosen the front sprocket nut before you remove the chain Quote
Phooey Posted February 14, 2015 Author Posted February 14, 2015 Oh yes ... that would piss me off removing chain then realising that I can't get the frontsprocket off. Quote
