Joeman Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Its the beeb having their cake and eating itExactly. Probably some dodgy tax scheme too. Rather than profits going direct to BBC they go to some new offshore account and filter back to the BBC..Clarkson's sacking seems very convenient timing Quote
techno Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 It's for the fans, if you'd paid to go see it youd want it to go ahead fair play to them. Quote
Guest Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 No mention of it being broadcast. Compared to broadcasts something like this is peanuts. Aimed at hard core fans rather than the general viewing population who tuned in every week. dropping from 350 Million a year to numbers measured in 100,000s during this world tour.Top gear earned an estimated £50 million a year from foreign sales. how much will they get from this? Not so much. will they do a few song and dance numbers do you think? will they screen a race between two cars nobody in the audience will ever see let alone own and then sit around in comfy chairs talking about what a jolly wheeze it all was and aren't we famous having all these people pay to see us. Interesting that they're not allowed to use the Top Gear brand.. seems to me more about milking what they can get while past events are fresh in peoples minds - make the most of the gravy train before it trundles to a stop. How long before Clarkson has his own show on Channel 5. they'll take anyones rejects.
