dirtlego Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 Hi guys,I own Yamaha FZ8 for two weeks now and noticed that my fuel meter shows full tank all the time, flashes 8 times and goes off for about 2-3 seconds. According to the service manual this is caused by malfunction of electrical circuit.Does anybody know if this is something that I can fix it by myself or this is serious and I have to go to the dealer?Anyone experinced the same problem? Thanks, Quote
Stu Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 If you have only had it two weeks and you got it from a dealer take it back for them to sort out Quote
dirtlego Posted April 5, 2015 Author Posted April 5, 2015 No, it came from a guy, not the dealer, model 2011.I will contact the dealer but they will charge me fortune I suppose. Anyway if there is no other way,... Cheers Quote
Stu Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 I would start googling as you may find a fix Does it have obd diagnostics port on it? Quote
dirtlego Posted April 5, 2015 Author Posted April 5, 2015 Will take a look for diagnostic port tomorrow. Now still googling for the issue. Quote
baggy Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 I would if I knew mate. I sent a link to an FZ8 forum. Didn't think you would want me to advertise it Quote
Stu Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 ah fair enough a link will have been fine its blatant spammers that have no place here Quote

dirtlego Posted May 26, 2015 Author Posted May 26, 2015 Update on the issue,... The problem was serious and the dealer gave up after four weeks. I guess he tried to make it cheap, but at the end he realized that the ecu must be changed. Anyway I got my money back and now I have FZ1N. Quote
