Hi guys, WonderAve here with a question for the gearingly gifted of you.

As I need to replace my chain very soon I was thinking I would go ahead and do the sprockets too. A 2 birds with one stone kind of thing. Then I thought, the little CBR does struggle with the hills and wind and whatnot. Plus i've had it absolutely maxed more times than I care to mention, thinking "I want more". I can't upgrade to a bigger bike for around 18 months yet as I'm 17 so I was thinking about customising the sprocket setup. I was thinking a straight lose one on the rear and gain one on the front. Any thoughts as to how this would affect speed etc? If I got 10mph top end speed increase how would this hinder the acceleration? Also, any ideas on cost? Thanks in advance.

you need to change sprockets and chain together anyway for even wear

dropping on the rear or adding to the front will cause your bike to struggle more with the hills!!

Ahh okay, thanks:) So, is there a setup which would help with the hills without too much of a hinderance on top end speed then?:/

if you went +1 or 2 on the rear or down 1 on the front that will help but you will lose top end speed
