Guest Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Hey peoplesRight, got an alarm/immobaliser/remote starter hereand i want to wire it up..I got most of the wiring done.. there is just one bit that i could do with help on..To wire up my remote engien starter, it needs to be wired to my ignition barrel(to be able to start the bike without inserting a key)the wire diagram with my alarm says to wire 3 wires to the barrel wiring..As you will see on the diagram they sent.. i have to attach the brown wire to the "black" wire on the barrel, and cut the "black and white" wire, and join the pink and grey wires to it..Well.. the "black" and "black and white" wires are actually different coloured on my barrel..i have (from what i can see through the side of the headlight fairing)BLACK, RED, GREEN and BLUE/REDWhat bloody wires do the alarms pink, grey and brown wires go to?!?!?!?I dont want to go pissing around with it, as its a new bike and still under warrant..but the place i bought the bike from, said they didnt have time to fit it, but if i did it, they would stamp it for me, so that it doesnt affect my warranty..Now i know the best idea would be to take it to a garage to do, but i really havent got any spare cash right now.. With just buying my bike, paying to change insurance over etc.. I really cannot afford it just yet WIRING DIAGRAM FOR ALARMhttp://i365.photobucket.com/albums/oo92/Badboyazza_2009/11008644_1649270085291775_3439896688905413868_n_zpstm4s6j7d.jpgAs you can see, they are telling me to wire the alarm coloured wires, to the black and black/white barrel wires.. MY BARREL WIRES ARENT THOSE COLOURS haha.. Quote
Guest Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 if it helps, i found wiring diagram in my owners manual..But to be quite honest.. Wiring diagrams have always confused the shit out of me..I get lost where im follow!!Right, i tried to colour the ignition barrel wires as best i can,..in order that they appear on the diagramBLACK, RED, GREEN, BLACK/REDhttp://i365.photobucket.com/albums/oo92/Badboyazza_2009/img007_zps2jclbyoj.jpgthis is the best quality i could scan it at.. its pretty scaled down in the book, so not the best quality..Basically.. according to my alarms diagram..I need the Igntion wire.. and the Barrel Earth out wire..Im guessing the Black is the ignition wire.Cheers guysi really apreciate your help Quote
Tango Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Not the best Diagram Allan........but it looks like the red wire is the positive feed from the battery.....and the Black wire goes to the starter button (switched live feed) as well as the rest of the circuitry. Good luck buddy..... Quote
Joeman Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 You're brave hacking the wiring of a brand new Chinese bike!First electrical problem you get, the shop will blame your wiring.. I would at least wait until its a few months old before chopping it about. Also, remote start must mean there is no immobiliser, and unless it detects neutral you could easily have it jump off its stand if you try to start it in gear. Guest Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 when you remote start, you push the button twice.. once to disable immobaliser, and second to activate starter solenoid to crank the engine over..Beautiful day, so took some nice pics of my bikey Plus, alarm is installed. easy peasy job actually..i dont mind touching Chinese wiring.. If some of you remember, i bought that Black Skyjet (honda cbr replica), a couple years ago. battered up and wiring wipped out.. i rewired it nicely and rebuilt it up to showroom condition..Pics:http://i365.photobucket.com/albums/oo92/Badboyazza_2009/DSC_0004_zpsutnikphk.jpghttp://i365.photobucket.com/albums/oo92/Badboyazza_2009/DSC_0003_zpsapcn9snw.jpghttp://i365.photobucket.com/albums/oo92/Badboyazza_2009/DSC_0002_zps0d6p0yzp.jpghttp://i365.photobucket.com/albums/oo92/Badboyazza_2009/DSC_0001_zps3mt68inm.jpgand Finally.. fq-craigus Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 I wired in an alarm with remote start to my bike, wired all up as instructed but for the remote start feature to work i have to disable my immobiliser which im not going to do, its either have a remote start feature (which is cool but not nessisary) or have a working immobiliser stopping people from hotwiring the bike.Could be different on yours but i would have thought principle is the same Quote

(currently cable tied up and hidden under seat), dont fancy drilling a hole in fairings for it.. Quote
Joeman Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Most immobilisers work by having a transponder in the key or on a key fob. If you can start your bike remotely with the key not close to the bike, you have no immobiliser. Quote

Guest Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 ahhhh, perhaps not then., Never mind.. if it gets hot wired, i can cut the engine off the with key thob too Quote
fq-craigus Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 ahhhh, perhaps not then., Never mind.. if it gets hot wired, i can cut the engine off the with key thob too only if you know its been pinched, is it the spy you have? If so i wouod check your range as the advertised 5000m is very unrealistic. 2/3 of a mile average range. Quote
Guest Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 nah mate. its a NCS alarm.. N Cook Security..That was the first thing i checked, the distance...and to be fair.. its plenty distance.didnt have anything to measure the max distance the key thob worked, or know anything to describe it..But yeah.. its a fair distance Quote
fq-craigus Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Ncs make the spy, all their series are essentially the same alarms Quote
