XmisterIS Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 I'm going to change the horn on my Ford Ka - upgrade from the standard one to a louder one with a relay (just for the fun of it, really! - and to make damn sure the bast*rds have heard me when they cut me up because "Oh, it's only a little car")Anyway, I can't for the life of me find the horn connector on google (see pics in the links below) - I've tried searching for all the numbers I can see, but I can't find it. Is this a standard connector, or some kind of weird Ford-only thing?https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4NwWl ... sp=sharinghttps://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4NwWl ... sp=sharinghttps://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4NwWl ... sp=sharinghttps://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4NwWl ... sp=sharing Quote
Joeman Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Sounds like a case of small car paranoia to me mate ... Quote
Tango Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Cut the connector off and crimp some insulated spade tags onto the wires....... Quote
XmisterIS Posted May 6, 2015 Author Posted May 6, 2015 Sounds like a case of small car paranoia to me mate ... Lol! Is that the same as Small Man Syndrome? I think some people see a Ford Ka and expect it to be driven by an old lady in a crocheted hat. They're quite surprised when it turns out to be a 6' biker instead! Cut the connector off and crimp some insulated spade tags onto the wires....... I think I will have to do this, but I don't like it ... it's not neat or proper ... can you tell I have OCD?! (I do actually, a little bit) Quote
Matt Strange Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 get a female connector from the scrappy?or try http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.eu/s ... connectors Quote
Matt Strange Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 It's a shame because Ford America have everything listed online! http://www.fordservicecontent.com/pubs/ ... atalog.pdfMaybe you can order via a part number through ebay USA or something, I don't think the UK/USA part numbers tally together.I do know that the connectors come with a short piece of wire and are know as a "pigtail" in the UK as well as in the USA. Ford charge an arm+leg for them though!Another good UK supplier: http://www.autoelectrics-uk.com/products.asp?CatID=38 Quote
