TomGrainger Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 So I know it's almost a year till I can do my unrestricted but it's got me thinking. To hire a bike and do the three day course is going to cost me in the region of £400-£500 minimum, which is a pisstake when I only really need to hire their bike because I can't go on an unrestricted bike on my own. So I've been trying to think of ways around this. If I took my restriction kit out, then got a fully qualified friend to ride the bike to the test centre for me, would there be any issues with me sitting the test on it? (I know I'd probably have to whack some L-plates on it). My other thought was about even bothering to remove the restriction kit. They're hardly going to pul the tank off and look into the air box are they? I mean, I'd much rather give a mate £50 and lunch to help me out for the day than pay £500 for a service I don't need. Thoughts? Quote
Mr Fro Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 I would be tempted to use it restricted - the chance of them testing it is tiny. That way it's less pfaff and you're legal for the ride there. Just so long as you get there early so as not to be seen riding it in to the test centre! Quote
Arwen Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 The main issue when doing it on your own is insurance. You have to be insured for the higher output. Quote
