Guest Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Right, i have been looking around for answers and haven't found anything that helps so i hope you guys might be able to shine some light on my question.I have recently passed my CBT and ride a 50cc moped (i am 16 years old), in order to take my CBT i needed my provisional license which you all know, i never really took much notice of the plastic card part of my license until earlier when i looked on the back. On the back of my licence is has all the different categories like A1, A2, & A and next to the A license it has the date 26/2/16 which is when i will be 17, so i have been looking into it and every online site says i cant take my A test until i am 21 (progressive access) or 24 (direct access). so this is where i'm stuck, my license also has a B category for driving cars, which has the same date and everyone knows i can take my driving test at the age of 17.I have always been into riding bikes and having been riding since as far back as i can remember, i know it would be impractical to jump onto a 1000cc at the age of 17, but i was just wondering if my license is incorrect or the laws have changed..Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.Alex Quote
Dav3y Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Sounds like your licence is cocked up to me. A1 I could understand, but I would have expected A2 and A to have different dates to align with earliest age maybe ?Just stick to the law which hasnt changed since early 2013. Quote
soll Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 next to the A licence date, do you have any additional numbers?i havent passed my bike test, but i do have a full car licence and I have A licence with code 79 (03) beside it..... Quote
Stu Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 The date is for the provisional entitlement Which is when you will also be allowed to ride a 125 on L plates Moped licence/provisional is different to motorcycle licence/provisional Quote
Tango Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 No shortcuts mate.......125 until you're 19......then it's possible to do your A2....... Quote
