rice-pudding Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 Is the a gasket I'm looking at? If so how do I get the damn thing out! http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd448/jojo-clyro/Mobile%20Uploads/DSC_0300.jpg Quote
Steve D Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 Looks like an exhaust ring gasket. Usually asbestos filled and covered with a thin metal cover. Just chop through it gently with a flat head screwdriver and prize it out. Stuff a piece of rag down the port before you start though to stop anything falling into the cylinder. Quote
rice-pudding Posted June 29, 2015 Author Posted June 29, 2015 So I'm safe to just shove a rag all down in there? Quote
Stu Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 yup just make sure you can pull it out those two rods hanging down at the back are your valve stems ...... you wont hurt them with a rag Quote
rice-pudding Posted June 29, 2015 Author Posted June 29, 2015 Cool! I'm just waiting on my left handed drill bits to arrive so I can tackle that 3 sheared bolts. Dousing in plus gas in the mean time. Wish me luck Quote
