Guest Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Hi got a friends Honda XR125 at the moment.Runs for 2-3 miles then dies won't restart for an hour, same thing happens if you let it ideal for 20 -40 mins.It has a spark when it won't start. What does the crankshaft sensor on these do?Is there a wiring diagram available anywhere?Any help appreciated Iain Quote
Joeman Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 try opening the fuel cap. could be blocked breather pipe causing a vacuum in the tank starving the bike of fuel. Quote
Guest Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Tried that first guess and a common fault bikes and cars Quote
Tango Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Haynes manual is the way to go...... The crank sensor is normally a coil/reed switch/hall effect device that senses a magnet on the crank and sends a trigger pulse to the cdi to create the spark........sensors can go with age......and the gap needs to be set between the sensor and the magnet. Could be the coil breaking down when it's getting hot.......still giving a spark, but not strong enough to fire the engine...... Quote
