Hello,

I am a bit confused with motorbike licenses. I have done the CBT test and have a provisional licence, which I understand lets me ride up to 125cc automatic with L plates.

Planning to go on a holiday to Majorca and would like to drive around the island with a scooter, but read that provisional licenses aren't accepted abroad.

So now I need a full, but is there a full license just for automatic bikes? Or I must learn the gears to have a full license? I don't intend to use a manual bike in the future. So I don't see the point to learn it at all....

Many thanks in advance for every reply.

Yeah, you can get a full licence for automatics only. Got a mate who has one. Think you have to follow pretty much the same examination structure but with some slight changes to the practical tests.

Has anyone had their licence checked when in the likes of Majorca and hiring a [strikeout]deathtrap[/strikeout] scooter?

Nothing 20 euros or so won't fix...

I was assuming that the rental place wouldn't give me a bike on the first place because my licence is provisional....

Rather not taking chances cos it will f**k up my holiday if I cannot get the bike

But I like ur laidback approach :D
