absmith Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Hi guys,I have had my bike for about 18 months and have begun to notice afew rust marks appearing on the chrome front end. I'm assuming it's the salt in the air as I live about 300 metres from the beach(and it probably doesn't help the bike is Chinese). Do you know of anything I can use that will stop/dissipate/reduce the process.I would like my bike to stay nice and shiny. Quote
Tango Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Polish the rust off and then wipe over with ACF50.......or move.... Quote
RantMachine Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 18 months is damn good going! Especially living near the sea! My Chinese bike once rusted when I parked it near the seafront for 24 hours WD40 + rag and lots of buffing to get rid of the rust, then ACF50 to stop it happening again Quote
absmith Posted July 27, 2015 Author Posted July 27, 2015 Seems I'm lucky it's taken so long to come through then. Thanks for the replies and I shall look into this acf 50 Quote
Sableye Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Chromes often terrible for rusting, Japanese, american or Chinese. What brand is the bike that's lasted 18 months no rust? Quote
Sableye Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 The Arizona seems to have a decent reputation for a Chinese bike Quote
absmith Posted July 28, 2015 Author Posted July 28, 2015 I've heard of afew now that go against the Chinese stereotype. I would seriously consider it if anyone wants a cruiser 125. Quote
