gaz91 Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Bought a fazer 1000 8 months ago its a 2009 model, went to start it one morning , turned key it went through its checks turned over wouldnt start, phoned local garage.they came back to me three days later and said they couldnt find the problem and had taken it to a yamaha dealers for a diagnostics check. The dealers said it was the ECU unit £900+vat.The garage then bought a unit fitted it and it still didnt work. They are now saying it could be a damaged wire somewhere on the bike. They have had the bike now for 8 weeks.does anyone out there have any idea what it could be Quote
Stu Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 its a bit hard to diagnose with the limited info but to go from a screwed ECU to a dodgy wire is a bit extreme and for them to have it 8 weeks is a long time for it not to be sorted! I hope the ECU was refunded? Quote
gaz91 Posted August 24, 2015 Author Posted August 24, 2015 Yes they managed to return the ECU, thats the only good news ive had Quote
Stu Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 I would be looking to find another garage to be honest as 8 weeks is a long time for no go Quote
Tango Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 They must know what the problem is by now surely? One of 3 things needed for an engine to run: fuel/air mixture in the combustion chamber, spark, compression........find out which one is missing and then find the cause! Quote
