overtones Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 Thought I'd say hello as a new member.Passed my Mod 1 on Friday. It was my 3rd attempt. Left foot down on the figure of 8 of my first test and then right foot down on the U turn of my 2nd test. 3rd test, no more feet so got the pass. Got a rider fault as the examiner thought I could have stopped shorter on the emergency stop but he did say I was doing 60Kph. One step closer to buying that street triple Mod 2 on Friday week and feel much more confident; probably as I've driven a car for 8 years and feel fairly comfortable on the road. Quote

Guest Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 How did you find doing the Mod 1 on a Street Triple?I've heard the turning circle is poor, so would imagine you may have had difficulties on the slalom, figure of 8 and U turn? Quote
charliemopic Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Congratulations on the pass Good luck for the mod2Did my tests on a street triple, lovely bike Found the Mod 1 a piece of cake on the Triple, just need to remember to keep the slalom tight and the figure of eight nice and wide. I was more nervous of the Mod 2. Quote
overtones Posted September 11, 2015 Author Posted September 11, 2015 Passed the mod 2 today! (5 minor faults). And then proceeded to the nearest triumph dealer. Put some cash down on a 2014 street triple r. [emoji13] Gota wait now until Thursday before I can pick it up. Quote

charliemopic Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 Congrats buddy, bet Thursday seems a long way off. Fingers crossed for the weather being fine end of next week then Quote
overtones Posted September 12, 2015 Author Posted September 12, 2015 Cheers guys! Yep Thursday seems like ages away! Quote
Guest Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Hopefully you're picking up that shiny Street Triple today! At least the weather's currently holding out for you! Let me know how you get on as I've got my MOD 2 in the next few weeks and I'm hoping to get a Street Triple too! All the best, Jon Quote
overtones Posted September 17, 2015 Author Posted September 17, 2015 Unfortunately my dreams of a Street triple have been delayed. Can't get insurance for the 2014 model I was after (I'm 30 but having zero NCB and no garage puts this one outta my reach).I can however get insurance on a 2012 r so am on the hunt for one at the minute. I'll hopefully get it sorted at the weekend as there are a few at dealers near to me with some in stock. Quote
Guest Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 Ah, thats gutting! Although you'll probably be wanting to keep that covered, are you able to get a shed to keep it out of the winter weather?Good luck in your search. Quote

Found a black 2010 STR with gold wheels at the weekend, looks great. Insurance is reasonable for me on my 1st year of riding and has the Triumph alarm/immobiliser (also bought oxford disk lock and chain too). Delivery on Friday. Cant wait!!I have one of the usual covers but don't have room for a shed without putting it on the grass which would probably kill it over the winter. It's a rented house so I don't want to give them any reason to withhold the deposit. On that point, I was thinking of getting one of these, any thoughts?: http://www.amazon.co.uk/FeelGoodUK-Moto ...
