Glorian Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Anyone know where i can get an extendable breaker bar for the car? Halfrauds sells one but only online. Only going to be for changing car tyre if i get a flat so dont want spend loads if i can help it. Quote
Grumpy Old Git Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Get an off-cut of tubular steel from your local supplier. You change your own car tyres? Most folk swap the wheel over and get a garage to fix / change the tyre! Quote
Glorian Posted January 4, 2016 Author Posted January 4, 2016 Only if i have a flat when out and about. THe one they supply is as long as my hand.. No way in hell you can get the tyre off with it.Might do that tbh.. I "adapted" my dads breaker bar with a long tube to get my front sprocket off I think i had a 6 foot long "Breaker bar". So maybe a small piece of tube over my spare socket wrench will do the trick! Quote
Stu Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 try machine mart or get a cheap one from the local market, boyes or wilko's Quote
Fozzie Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 I've got two, one from machine mart, and another from eBay. Both holding up fine! Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 i carry a spider wheel brace the 4 ended one so that it will fit all cars you need to do and means that you can stand on one side while pulling the other side not much that doesnt come undone they and they are not that expensive.........this type of thing http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-Wheel-Bra ... eastanglianbiker Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 or use your halfords trade card http://www.halfords.com/workshop-tools/ ... arm-wrench Quote

Grumpy Old Git Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 But.....That is a wheel wrench - for use when changing wheels, not tyres (see my first comment). To change tyres you have to prise the tyre offf the rim (and you cannot do that with a wheel brace!). You change your own car tyres? Most folk swap...... Quote
Glorian Posted January 5, 2016 Author Posted January 5, 2016 Sorry GoG, bad lingo use on my part. It's just for swoping the spare wheel if i ever get a flat. Just bolts off and on. Quote

You are correct but halfrauds call it a breaker bar. I confess I googled the Halfords web site to see it cause I thought the same as you. Quote

Some of the online only stuff comes direct from the supplier or even from another smaller company that sells through Halfords, those items can't be collected at store at all as they don't hold stock of them in store or their distribution centre. Glorian Posted January 5, 2016 Author Posted January 5, 2016 Its online only, it doesnt go to store. Quote
