eddieboy Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Hi, I passed my Motorcycle test approx 30 years ago but have not ridden for approx 20 years now, I am thinking of getting a 125cc moped to use to commute to work and would like to know if i have to retake my test as it has been so long since passing my test ? Hoggs Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Hiya, unless you've been banned in that time, should still be valid! Way to check is back of your photo licence the A cat should have dates in Quote
TC1474 Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Your full licence in al categories is valid until your licence expires or you decide to surrender your licence. The fact that you have a 20 year gap or so in your riding history makes no difference. Quote
MostlyBonkers Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 I wouldn't bother with a 125, they're naff. Get whatever bike that takes your fancy. Even the superbikes are really easy to ride, because they have to be. Just take it easy and you'll soon get used to any bike. Far more important than the size of bike is training. Sign up to IAM. It's only 150 quid and that includes all the training and the test. It's very worthwhile and you'll probably enjoy it too. Quote

RoSPA course tends to be cheaper, and you get a better class of examiner as well Quote
