Guest Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 A friend is 23 and passed his mod 1 nearly 2 years ago.. Will he need to resit his theory once his 2 years are up, or does him passing his mod 1 make that rule mute? Quote
Hoggs Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 (edited) Pretty sure you need a valid theory to do your mod 2. Part of me thinks your mod 1 is only valid for as long as your theory test is...EDIT - Here is a handy website http://www.vision-motorcycletraining.co ... explained/As thought above N.B. Your Mod 1 pass is linked to your theory test pass; when your theory expires, your Mod 1 will expire at the same time. So if his theory expires he really has to start again! Get him to do his mod 2 pronto! Edited March 3, 2016 by Hoggs Quote
Guest Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 Can he not just go do his mod 2?That's what I'm trying to get him to hurry up and do. No doubt he'll probably need a lesson or 2 to erase some bad habits he has picked up from driving on his own for 2 years but they would be done in 2-3 days easy. Pretty sure you need a valid theory to do your mod 2. Part of me thinks your mod 1 is only valid for as long as your theory test is...I thought maybe your mod 1 overwritten the fact your theory only lasts 2 years but I can't find anything on that. Quote
Hoggs Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 Oh I just edited the above Afraid the mod 1 is linked to theory date Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 if its been nearly 2 years maybe he should check his cbt as well as his theory paperwork Quote
soll Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 As i remember it .need cbt to take theory and mod 1, once you have mod 1 you have until your theory expires to pass mod 2.if you fail to do mod 2 before theory expires you have to do all of it all over again..cbt, theory, mod1 and then mod2.in other words stop feckin about and get ya finger out. Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 your cbt still needs to be in force otherwise you are not legal to be on the road so couldnt do the road riding of mod2 Quote
Guest Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 It's not me [emoji1] I passed mod 2 on Tuesday. I'll let him know Quote
