Guest Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Like loads of people, I'm sure ... I suffer from quiet horn syndrome .... Indeed, I have heard anorexic frogs make more noise than my feeble horn Has anyone fitted air-horns or similar to their bikes ?? I fancy something really loud ... Or, even obscenely loud So whose fitted what, and how easy peasy was the wiring .... Quote
rennie Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Never done it but wiring should be easy peasy, just straight swap for standard one unless the new one uses loads more power than standard then you'll need to go through a relay. Quote
Guest nigelf Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Yep ... Halfords do a nice line in loud hooters.I can vouch for the twin pack electric (red) as a direct replacement for the honda hooters on the CB1000 no relay seems to be needed. Also Halfords do a set of Fiam 3 trumpet set of air horns Ive fitted those to my Paneuropean 1100. they are in the fairing and is a bit of a squease. These should be fitted and operated via a relay as they cause the fuse to blow if held on for too long. I chose to only fit two of the three horns due to space limitations.Halford do a set of small, all in one air horn set which look quite neat may be I will retrofit these to the Pan.Nigel Fenton Quote
Guest Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Have a scratch round on Ebay Ed,i picked a set up from an old Honda sabre there 2 tone and sound a lot deeper than the stock, failing that if you have the space to fit them look for old car horns for example http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/bek006-MGB-MGC-Mi ... dZViewItem then theres always the Fiamm horn i bought a set of these and man there loud trouble is they need a relay so as soon as i get one then i'll fit them to the bike i have the horn relay wiring diagrams if you or anyone else wants a copy Quote
Stu Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 ive seen a set of high low tone horns in a shop near me for £10 what i have my eye on Quote
Guest Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Thanks for the suggestions chaps!!Plenty of food for though there!!Beats me, why the put such poo horns on bikes, seeing as the safety issue is flipping obvious!! Quote
