macdaddy86 Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 Hi there,I have a issue with my carb drying out after a few high revs, seems the crappy petcock is not working, carbs is dry, tank is full and changed spark plug, just cuts out when in idle then does not want to start. Done a bypass of the vacuum petcock and it works as normal, got a temp clamp on the fuel pipe when it's not infuse until I resolve it.Just wanted to know if anyone has tried a 12v fuel tap/stop on theirs (gravity forced fuel), seems like a good idea wiring one to the starter, so when the key switches electrics on the fuel switch opens electrically and shuts off when the key turns the electric off.I cannot see anywhere on the web anyone who's converted one tho so I'm thinking there must be a reason? I personally cannot see any problems with the idea. Any help and input on the subject would be excellent. I have one ready to buy like this: http://cdn2.bigcommerce.com/server5500/0baae/products/485/images/2212/Tomasetto_Petrol_Shut_off_valve__22358.1449320652.1280.1280.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;I just want rid of the stupid vacuum tap, and don't think uneasy to manually switch it off and on at every trip. Thanks guys and gals Quote
Mr Fro Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 Just get a repair kit for the original fuel tap. They're not expensive. Quote
macdaddy86 Posted October 22, 2016 Author Posted October 22, 2016 The ones for this scooter is pants mate, not worth repairing, this is the third one, I just want to get rid either to manual cut off switch or 12v powered cut off switch, the later being the preferred method if do-able. Just wanted to know if anyone knew of any issues with a 12v electric cut off wired to the ignition. Quote
