I still find it hard to believe you are killing a new chain in 1000miles, but if you are, D.I.D chains have a 6month /10,000 mile warranty so i hope you're getting them replaced for free!

I put 8k on the D.I.D chain on the tl with lots of rough arse wheelies it's still on the bike now that my brother uses to commute on in all weather's!!

I also rode it like I stole it all the time!

Exactly. I think anyone who thinks they ride hard enough on the road to destroy a chain in 1000miles needs to prove it....

Well if you pick some very tight and twisty roads around my way, go out at 6am with some friends when there is no one else around, ride them enthusiastically and you still haven't gone above 60mph but constantly on and off the throttle, any big twin is not kind to chains especially in that type of situation with the constant snap of power, heavy breaking, snap of power.

P.s. how would you like your proof?

:D

Thanks for the info on the warranty Stu I didn't actually know they offered one!

Simple, next time you buy a new chain, hang it from the ceiling and measure it's length and let us know, ride 1000miles, remove the chain, measure it again and let us know the new measurements, then send it back to DID as a warranty claim. If they validate the claim, we will accept that as proof.

You have nothing to loose, you get a fee chain

And that's how I used to ride all the time on my big twin!

Constantly floating the front out of corners was rather fun

Dispite what people think, chains don't stretch! No road bike has the power to stretch the steel links regardless of how brutal you are with the throttle.

Chains get longer as the holes in the links wear from being round to being elongated. It's not the power that makes them wear it's the friction over time and I don't think 1000miles is enough time to wear the holes enough to ruin a chain.... unless you lube your chain with sand mixed with diamond dust or something seriously abrasive!
