Why bodge it? If you want it to run properly get the correct carb for the bike.

I am looking online for one right now but without any luck. I will try tomorrow at several bike breakers. :thumb:

Excellent google-fu [emoji106]

The one with a cracked top seems clean enough and unmolested, just swap it with yours as JRH suggested [emoji106]

Hi, is the carb you got beyond repair or can you fix that hole where the mixture screw sits, I have been looking for a second hand one, and their as rare as hens teeth, here's the workshop manual, and I'll check again for the carb :thumb:

Thank you for the manual!

Depends how are the passages in there, from what i can see i think it has a small hole in the center far end and another one on the side, 5mm up. If those are the only ones there i think i can give it i try. I was thinking about putting a mixture screw all the way in there with a coat of gresse on it, get some adhesive and fill the hole around it, let it settle and pray :)

But i don't know, if i can just put another 125 26mm carb on, i will just go to that route, i just want to ride and all i do with my time now is browsing trying to fix it :notworking:

The 2 small holes could be right, the point at the end of the screw goes toward that hole ,it has a small washer and spring on it that sits on the shoulder inside, once inside the screw has a cap over the end (so its not interfered with) :thumb:

Update: I am waiting for a carb replacement (one from JRH links  ). When i will get it i will tune it to factory settings (thanks again for the manual Spanner  ) and i will post a clip with the bike running.

Just to add to this thread if anyone is interested. My bike used to rev high and it was related to the carb (I think it is a common problem).

Obviously check the obvious thing like throttle cable and idle screw setting but if you have ruled them out then it is likely a gummed up carb and or pilot mixture screw setting.

I cleaned mine with carb cleaner and air line and turned mixture screw counter clockwise slightly and it fixed it. I cannot say which contributed more to the solution but it is definitely the right area to focus on.
