hello everybody.

went to view a mk2 bandit today. everything is perfect, other than the speedo.... it works but seems to jump around the speedo i.e. reading 30 in a 50. i have been told that it could be electrical because apparently mk2s have a electrical speedo?

any advice would be great! but need to let the guy no on my offer tonight.

probably an easy fix

If it is indeed electrical pick up then it will be the connector from the pick up to the speedo! water can get in and cause the issue

I would be wondering how long its been like it and how far out the mileage is :)

oh no didn't even think about that its reading 32k, he said the speedos been like that since he's had it (surely if it was an easy fix he would of done it by now)

looks like I'm back on the look out now then!

To me if he can't be arsed to fix the speedo what other gremlins will be lurking waiting for you to discover!

it may well be an easy fix for me but maybe not for him :)

Sounds like a problem either with the speed sensor, or the wiring between the speed sensor and the clocks.
