    Help!

There is a consistant tick from the exhaust. If I put my finger over the outlet of the exhaust the tick seems to go. (Not sure if it’s to do with me blocking the amount of air escaping) Just so I’m clear I’m not covering the whole of the exhaust outlet but in placing a finger across it the tick seems to go. Very hard to explain The ticking from the cam chain doesn’t seem to related as it’s not consistent with the exhaust tick what so ever. Sorry for confusion Cheers bob

    Help!

did the screwdriver trick and found the noise coming from the rear engine at the top by the cams, so gonna assume it is just cam chain noise. It’s not very loud and only there at certain rev ranges 2-4K and sometimes at idle. Am I safe to just assume this is the noise that the sv makes and I can just get on with riding? It’s soon drowned out by the sound of my exhaust!

Would that cause the noise on the side stand aswell? Also would it need replacing? Or just rattle? Don’t want to cause any damage! Thanks buddy

    Help!

I have a suzuki Sv650S 57plate 29k Started to notice a small rattle from the front between 2-4K revs mostly on engine breaking. I’ve also noticed when checking oil the bike ticks on the side stand from the front end. As soon as I stand it up it stops ticking. The exhaust seems to tick abit but goes if I put my finger over it? Don’t think it’s related maybe a leak. Should I be worried? Oil and filter change about 300miles ago.
  6. 2007 sv650, noticed some smoke coming out of rubber pipe attached to far left senser box on the air box, I then heard a pop and the check oil light and FI come on. Turned off engine started again and the same lights came on. Oil level fine, so checked pipe which had burst and then snapped explains the pop I guess. Currently struggling to find a relplacement pipe as I do not no the name of it. Any ideas? Hopefully a easy fix

Will this be ok, flushed system current coolant was green Used deionised water to flush all of the old coolant out so I’m assuming I’m good to go with the pink stuff? http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductMobileDisplay?catalogId=10151&langId=-1&categoryId=255224&productId=185166&storeId=10001

Hello guys, I’m going to be doing a coolant change on my sv650s just wondered what coolant anyone recommends? Thanks!
  10. Recently did an oil and filter change on my sv, just wondering the correct way about checking the levels, do you check oil when cold or do you have to warm it up for a while then check? Noob question but not 100percent! Cheers guys
  11. i will have to get it booked in at my garage and let them sort the carbs! hopefully not to expensive cheers guys!
  12. cheers for the reply mate, if it was carb balance would it not happen constantly? just spoke to a few people and they have said the CCT? but i assumed that would be a constant noise also
  13. my gs500 has started making a strange sound when hot, its a sort of metallic slap but only at idle, doesn't happen all the time but it is noticeable when it is there. it only happens at idle any sort of throttle it goes away. oil has always been checked and is at correct level. i have tried changing the oil plugs and filter but the noise persists. seems like its happening near the top of the engine but hard to tell. any help would be grateful guys! 2004 GS500 18000 miles
  14. oh no didn't even think about that its reading 32k, he said the speedos been like that since he's had it (surely if it was an easy fix he would of done it by now) looks like I'm back on the look out now then!
  15. hello everybody. went to view a mk2 bandit today. everything is perfect, other than the speedo.... it works but seems to jump around the speedo i.e. reading 30 in a 50. i have been told that it could be electrical because apparently mk2s have a electrical speedo? any advice would be great! but need to let the guy no on my offer tonight.
  16. Thanks for the replies guys. As the tank was getting empty noise got a lot quieter. Put some new fuel in and it's still there but barely noitcible? Possibly was like it before but only noticing because I'm checking? Would you guys leave it now as it seems to be barely noticeable ? Cheers
  17. ahh ok i just assumed because i hadn't heard it before it was going to blow up or something hopefully its only that !!
  18. if it is the fuel pump whining what does that mean ? is that normal can i still ride as normal? sorry if I'm being stupid just not very clued up on this type of thing . cheers phil
  19. so what does that mean for me a trip to the garage? i wasn't sure on whether it was just an electrical fault or not as the noise changed when i indicate? cheers for the reply man
  20. hello everybody. new to this so please bare with me. i have a 2014 honda cbr125R. had this bike for about 6 months now and never had a single problem. Until yesterday that is. I was riding home from work when a noticed a high pitched whistling noise coming from inside my fuel tank. naturally i went to the internet to try to diagnose this problem and all that i could find was about pressure realizing through the tank lid. so i set to test the theory by putting my spare key in the tank removing the lid and started the bike up . But the noise was still there. please note that noise is only there when engine is on and the fuel pump primes as normal. now the strangest thing that i found is that when i either put my indicators on or full beam the whistle changes from a constant tone to a sort of siren? does anybody have any ideas? cheers guys phil.
