Hi all

I have a Honda cg125 battery and can't figure out which one I need as a replacement

Could someone point me in the right direction pls-many thanks

Also, the battery currently on the bike wasn't charged for 4 years, I charged ot for 2 hours but when I attached it I still had no lights or anything. Does that mean it's completely gone

Thanks

I'll tell you now, it's dead.

But, to check, lob it on the bike, set a multimeter to DC 20V, stick the probes across the two terminals, press the starter.

You'll see the reading dive down really low.

On the side of the battery is a code, probably YTX4L-BS.

Buy one of them from Halfords or get a Motobatt from http://www.wemoto.com/bikes/

It's only £18-20 for a battery one ebay. Looks like a YTX5L-B battery for the CG, but check first. They have a Motobatt for £20. Like mawsley said these are good batteries.

You can search by model and year if your not sure

The CG has been around for forty one years now so it would help if you were a little more specific. The easiest way to get the right battery is to just buy one from a good mail order firm such as Wemoto or M&P . Just select the right bike and you will get the right battery. Having said that, you could try Bike Bits in Coventry which despite what the internet says IS still very much still trading.

Starter? CG125? Really? Kids these days don't know they're born! I suppose they don't come with a kick-start any more. Moan, groan etc. etc.

PS - gotta agree, 4 years = fooked battery. 10/10 for optimism, though.....
