Chrissb6 Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 Not got this one ticked off yet, and as they say you snooze you loose, the sailing that use to go from Immingham to Norway is no more, "Stopped by British Boarder control JOY!!" So has anyone been recently and can offer any advice. It looking for me like a Holland, Germany and Denmark and another ferry now, which as l see it is at least a 2 day run before we start on Norway. Gerontious Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 My suggestion would be to use the ferry as much as possible... perhaps aim for Bergen. so.. first stop would be Hirtshals in DK. and the ferry from there to Bergen. That should knock off a significant 'dog leg' and put you where the old ferry from newcastle (back in the day) would have put you.Google says its about 720 miles from Zebrugge to Hirtshals. a quick look at the Fjord line ferry page gives a start price of €87 euros for the travel part.. 2 adults and motorcyle to Bergen.. add on the cost of a berth or Seats (but you need to log in to go that far)so that would be my strategy... thats assuming I was heading to the far north and wanted to stay over on the Atlantic side of Norway and miss out on the less interesting 'flat parts' of Southern Sweden etc.. maybe return that way.. or maybe not.something like this for the first leg:https://goo.gl/maps/JBJ39Rhjeotor.. have a look at this: http://www.eurobiketrans.co.uk/norwegian-motorcycle-transport/ Quote

Pity the Immingham ferry gone, that would of saved us 2000 miles of getting to and from Norway Quote
megawatt Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 Whatever the route and the time taken, Norway is worth it. Quote
