jem1 Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 Hi my 1986 bmw r80rt is leaking oil from the clutch lever Can it be changed with the engine in place or is it a removal job Quote
Guest Posted September 5, 2018 Posted September 5, 2018 C'mon.... bit more of a clue, please.... which end? Quote
fastbob Posted September 5, 2018 Posted September 5, 2018 Clutch actuator pushrod oil seal , at a guess . It is helpful to use the correct terminology. What does your Haynes manual say ? From what I have seen, based upon a brief look at a few BMW websites, notably Air Heads , the clutch and gear box housing can be detached while the engine remains in the frame . So all it boils down to is whether the seal is pressed in from the inside or the outside. How does it appear to you ? Quote
jem1 Posted September 8, 2018 Author Posted September 8, 2018 Thanks for your replys it turns out to be the gear selection shaft seal that was leaking and the oil running back to the Clutch actuator pushrod oil seal . Quote
