Yogadaddyjeff Posted December 26, 2018 Posted December 26, 2018 I commute in on the m40 (but only from junction 3) into London but then as I teach yoga do have a few different journeys within the city - so around 70 ish miles round trip. My v workhorse Yamaha xjs diversion is an ‘11 plate but after doing over 100,000 miles! Has decided to bite the dust ( think the mechanic at the dealership is keen on me buying a new bike / said it was just going to cost too much as needed new cdi, sort out steering bearings etc) so - Any suggestions? Am thinking either the Yamaha tracer or Honda NC700x? Reliable, cheap to run, good for filtering etc.... am unsure whether to just get a new bike on finance or go 2nd hand which works out better? (Besides hassle of getting big cash together and going to god knows where to pick it up) - Any thoughts or suggestions v welcome! Quote
mikestrivens Posted December 26, 2018 Posted December 26, 2018 Hello and welcome. Whatever you get make sure you have very good security. Quote
Mississippi Bullfrog Posted December 26, 2018 Posted December 26, 2018 I'd go for the Honda NC750. Very economical and the people I know who have them as commuters speak very highly of them. Probably far less prone to theft than the Tracer and much easier to live with. If you've got on well with the Diversion then the NC750 is probably nearer your cup of tea. Quote
