Ellieh Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 I own a 125 lexmoto Valencia, had it since August this year. 16 plate. Since November I've not been riding it as the roads around me arent safe to ride on. Just want a little advice on how to keep it over the winter. Currently have it under a motorbike cover and up on centre stands. Been running it for 10-15 minutes for the past few weeks but it seems to be struggling to start. Assume this is due to the battery being close to drained?(battery is only a few months old so I know it doesn't need replacing) just wondering what would be best.. to keep running once a week until the spring? Or to disconnect the battery and have it on a charge over the winter? Was Looking to sell it but know It would be a slim chance selling over the winter.Any advice is appreciated as I'm not that educated when it comes to mechanics. Looking to sell it come late spring/early summer so want it looking and working the best it can. Cheers Quote
Fleck Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 I would take the battery off and leave it on a maintainer like an optimate 2.To keep the rust at bay put ACF50 on the exposed metal bits (not brake disc though) or even engine oil will work, probably very similar anyway Quote
fastbob Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 Definitely don't keep starting it for short periods of time . There's no need and you get condensation in the engine . Quote
