Bought used bike from garage, advice needed

Update: Bike repaired and back. Total cost £500 which included engine out, mount welded, helicoil on corroded manifold bolt, sidestand shortened, 4 new intake rubbers (£95) and engine back in.

Now I just need to figure out why the clock resets every time I switch the ignition off (new thread in pitstop incoming!)

Hi.

Good to hear you got your bike sorted. As regards the clock resetting. Does it require a small amount of power from the battery to retain the presets.

I imported a Japanese car and when I fitted a decent radio in it I kept loosing the presets when I turned the ignition off. It turned out the wiring loom to the radio was different to a European one. My situation was fixed by altering two wires in the loom.
