fv43576 Posted March 23, 2020 Posted March 23, 2020 My father's old scooter is Suzuki CS50 Roadie 1982 or 1983 I am not sure because he lost his V5 paper, the reg was no where to be found and which is left in his farm barn since 2006 with 3434 miles on the clock. I want to restoration and to bring back on the road again.I have stripped it to piece the chassis was quite rusty and is send for blast but the VIN numbers has wear fade and I can't reading is start with 8x7xxx.So how can I register V5 without VIN and Reg number? How can I explain to DVLA that the scooter hasn't got register details? Thanks Quote
dynax Posted March 23, 2020 Posted March 23, 2020 try and clean the area where the vin number is with some degreaser, then use some chalk or some make up powder borrowed from your missus, then get some masking tape and press and rub it down over the vin number, then transfer that to a piece of plain white paper, and with a bit of luck should give you the full vin number Quote
fv43576 Posted March 23, 2020 Author Posted March 23, 2020 Thanks try now, I will email later if it works. Quote
fv43576 Posted March 23, 2020 Author Posted March 23, 2020 Phone one of my friend who is work motorcycle shop. He look on the register the Suzuki CS 50, CS 80 and CS 125 have 10 digital numbers, the six digital numbers is for search parts. He said should be metal label on chassis or on engine but is no where to be found! I am wonder what I should do next? I know that scooter has not been stolen because it belong to my dad. Quote
dynax Posted March 23, 2020 Posted March 23, 2020 Taken from an internet search. The frame number on the CS50 should be located on the right side of the frame steering stem (the part of the frame that is below the handle bars and above the front wheel). The engine number should be stamped onto a plate on the back of the engine crankcase (on the furthest part of the crank case). Quote
fv43576 Posted March 23, 2020 Author Posted March 23, 2020 Now try to find it I will take picture if I can't find it. Quote
fv43576 Posted March 23, 2020 Author Posted March 23, 2020 I have been look everywhere a very carefully no sign of printed numbers! the engine has got no numbers as well, I guess I have to tell DVLA, what should I do next? and how to explain to them the DVLA? Quote
dynax Posted March 23, 2020 Posted March 23, 2020 I would get in touch with the DVLA and see what they say, they may offer another frame number and Q plate it, other than that i have no idea, good luck with it sorry i can't be of any more help Quote
