My snatch is annoying...

Recommended Posts

I've got an 06 Yamaha FZ6N, with a very snatchy throttle (in my opinion).

I believe that it's the only thing stopping me from progressing... I feel like a new rider (although I've been riding nearly 6 years now!).

Due to my almost imminent trade-in for a Mito650, I'd like a low-cost solution to the problem.

Any suggestions/contacts for me to try out?

Love and kisses,

Oms. :D

the only thing that works for a snatchy throttle is the power commander

unless its only just started then it could be another underlying problem :?

She's always been like that...

I had a warranty recall for a throttle position sensor, but it's made no difference at all.

The 07 version apparently has it sorted... along with the brakes and forks and swingarm. Pah, perhaps I should have waited three months in the first place.

Your chain isn't too slack is it,sometimes it's the simple things that are overlooked :?:

Ta, I'll have a wee look tomorrow.

It should be ok though (2500 miles on the clock).

I'm not taking the P here but are you sure it isn't you? I thought the same when I first got the blade but it's just that it's so much more responsive than I was used to. My mate had the same problem on his gixxer thou. Try to relax your arms/ grip slightly, see if it makes a difference.

if its always done it a power commander a set up will sort it out

when they first brought the TLs out thats one of the things they recalled the bike...snatchy throttle response

on the TLs they changed the ecu which made it better then people started fitting power commanders and it sorted it completely

There is a good piece in april 2007 issue of Ride called big fix little box, its on about snatchy hrottle on a monster 600 but its the same thing.

Ask me nicely I'll send it to you

I have heard people have to change thier riding style / how much of a handful you grab with fuel injection, never had it as all the bikes Ive had use carbs but it is fairly common thing.

power commander and dyno looking at 380 quid roughly so its up to you if its worth it.

Mine has done this for a while now, common problem on CB1300s,aPowercommander will sort it but I'm too tight to buy one,I control the 'snatchiness' by dragging the clutch.

My K5 GSXR600 didn't do it... in fact, it was much easier to ride than my FZ6. :S

My ol' ZXR400 (L9) didn't do it either.

I'd LOVE to find out who does the fix-box for it. Pretty please?? :D :D

the k5 is a more superior bike then a yam :P

and the zxr is carbed so less lickley to do it :D

Well, I'd like a few to be run-in before I take the plunge... you know, just in case they go BANG.

Perhaps Jan 08?

I almost got a GSR instead, but I didn't like the way bodywork was velcro'd on. Apparently they start to get a bit flappy with age.

Thank foook for that.

I'm VERY annoyed because I could have had an 07 FZ6N for £600 more, and it would have everything sorted on it.

I opted for cheapness, and I'm going to end-up spending the money anyway... pah.

try dipping your clutch abit thats what i do with my bike and it works

but your clutch wont last as long if you do it all the time!

what i would say is is put some hours in on riding your bike after so long you find it should stop or not do it as bad it can take hours to get use to a bike
