Meepins Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 (edited) Hi!I don’t know much about helmets but I found these two old Bell xfm-1 helmets in my dad’s garage who just passed away. They are in mint condition, never worn too. The box isn’t in great shape though. I also have the tinted visors. Any idea how much it could worth? Is it legal to wear them or it’s just a collection piece? I’m pretty sure you can’t wear those where I live (Canada).Thank you for your help guys, much appreciated! husoi Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 A couple pictures would have helped..An helmet that is over 5 years old shouldn't be used. Any (decent) manufacturer will have in their T&C's that any helmet should be replaced after 5 years.Because they are biased I would gladly extend that to 10 years but I would be very weary for anything beyond that.If you don't want to keep them maybe you can donate them to the motorbike museum or sell them to anyone wanting to collect them. Meepins Posted July 31, 2020 Author Posted July 31, 2020 Yeah thats what I thought. But I just posted them for $100 for both helmets on a local selling platform and 1 minute later I received multiple calls, one guy offering me $200 each. If they actually worth something to collectors I just don’t want to sell them at a ridiculous price. Thanks for your reply Quote
Guest Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 No idea what they are worth and I wouldn't trust my head to them but, they are a very good retro style which is popular at the moment and I would have thought would be worth a good amount. Quote

That’s what I think, now the same guy is offering me $1300 CAD for both I might just wait a little and sell it to him if I don’t get any accurate answer of what they are worth. Quote
gogs01 Posted August 1, 2020 Posted August 1, 2020 Surely they are worth what somebody is prepared to pay for them ? An estimated value will always be just that - a genuine offer is what you want.Just make sure the money is in your bank before you send them off. Quote
