Oddball Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 hi all,My licence expires on the 21st August. I've sent my renewal form off last month but dont hold much hope of it coming back anytime soon. My mod 1 test is booked for the 25th August. Now the dvla web site states:If your licence expired before 31 August 2020Your driving licence or entitlement to drive will be automatically extended for 7 months if it expired between 1 February 2020 and 31 August 2020. This is because of coronavirus (COVID-19).The extension starts from the date your licence is due to expire.I can't talk to dvla as the numbers are always engaged. So taking the above from the dvla website. My online check should come back in date but my card will show as being expire. Will the examiner still let me take my test? Quote
dynax Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 What do you mean by your licence or is it the CBT that expires ? Quote
dynax Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 I have just looked on the DVLA website, i assume that you are over 70, if so i would not worry but you may have to postpone your test date if you can't physically produce your licence at the time of your test, the examiners should know about the extension Quote
Oddball Posted August 10, 2020 Author Posted August 10, 2020 I'm 43, I've done the renewal form and ticked the box to state ive kept my photo card for test. Quote
dynax Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 Okay i understand now, you should be fine then here is the DVLA link if anyone else is in a similar situation https://www.gov.uk/renew-driving-licence Quote
