Guest Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 I took a look on a couple of Urbex groups on FaceButt! What weird people! They don't post locations.....everything's secret......and they approach visiting locations (usually in groups) as if it's a military campaign. WTF is that all about? Yeah, they are a really weird cliquey lot. I used to be on 28dayslater - it's fair when someone finds something unique and wants to prevent the world and his wife tramping round the place. Some are tight lipped about very easily found or common knowledge stuff which is odd. Plus, there's an expectation to post a massive wall of text about the history of the place you're reporting on. Just show me the f*cling pics!P.s. anyone want to know about anything in SE Kent, just hit me up. And they seem to go everywhere with hard hats with usually a light on the top......even when they're out in the open in broad daylight! Quote
Mawsley Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 Where were you before? Oh, I’ve always been a ****. Quote
The Hitcher Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 If you desperately need someone to lead these little trips out in exchange for decent full time pay, food and private lodgings then I reluctantly offer my services. I might even manage to tighten the chain sometimes to save you some money on the servicing costs If anybody's qualified to lead a tour based around despair it's probably @dynax. I wonder if Thom Yorke is free to do the soundtrack, could always ask Morrisey if not. Quote
Mr Fro Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 And they seem to go everywhere with hard hats with usually a light on the top......even when they're out in the open in broad daylight! It's all flooding back now... The arguments they had about which tripod is best. I took a camera, my £20 tripod, a lenser torch and a bunch of batteries. Done. Quote

Mawsley Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 Where were you before? Just realised I totally misread the post Colombia for a few years, then Venezuela for three. Quote
Mr Fro Posted September 4, 2020 Posted September 4, 2020 They seem to go in groups......are they too frightened to go on their own? Must be. You should see the planning and equipment that goes with their group trips - 4 guys in a motor with the boot heaving - mainly stealthy camouflage and climbing rope (the choice of which was another source of arguement).I did most of my stuff on my own and if it were something a bit naughty in the middle of town or something, I'd stick on a Skanska or Babtie high vis & a hard hat. Not once did anyone ask what I was doing. Quote

Everything thing here is open though as you've seen.Probably in the cities there's stuff that's locked up.......but going into cities (with traffic and people) is not my thing. Quote
